B3 as a security camera streamer ?

I have been using Raspberry PI's around my place to setup security and webcam streaming. One place I would like to monitor is close to my B3. However I discovered that the kernel on the B3 does not have the modules loaded to support USB video cameras. Anyone solved this ? Ironically the RPi's are so...

How many B3's out there ?

I often wonder how many B3's there are out there up and running ? My own B3 has been up and running on it's original HD continuosly since 2011. I often use it to test or play with new ideas and it still occasionally streams to my TV. But I have never had a problem with it and it must be my oldest bi...

Re: Debian stretch (9) image 1.1 released for B3

.....and it worked !! Thanks !!

Downloaded from the link in the first message on this thread, loaded onto a USB key. Power down then powered up pressing the B3 button and the B3 wiped this disk and installed Stretch. Took 1-2 minutes.

Thanks for your help ! :-)

Re: Debian stretch (9) image 1.1 released for B3

Thanks ! Here you go with the install.ini - I tried a couple of edits of the final block in [GENERAL] but nothing made a difference, also tried specifying a location for the image. This is just what was download as in the zip-file of the original link. The 'install' directory placed in the root of t...

Re: Debian stretch (9) image 1.1 released for B3

Still the same problem after formatting and unzipping the file on my B3. I have not changed the install.ini file at all ! But just checking, am I supposed to un-comment any of the lines or specify where the image is located ? Also, typically, how long does an upgrade take ? (I currently get 6 x quic...

Re: Debian stretch (9) image 1.1 released for B3

Good point ! I actually downloaded/installed on Linux, but used a GUI "wordpad"? tool to edit the file. I will try again using 'vi' or nano.

Actually, doing this on the B3 may be the wisest choice. :-)

Re: Debian stretch (9) image 1.1 released for B3

I will when I am home, but it was just the default install.ini except that I had un-commented "wipe = false" so that only the first partition would be formatted. I didn't make any other changes.

Re: Debian stretch (9) image 1.1 released for B3

Just tried to update my B3 from the install file in the link on the first page. It fails to install, the install.log file states - 2002-10-16 10:34:44.951 - INFO - Running Excito installer version 2.0 daemon process with pid 113 2002-10-16 10:34:44.954 - INFO - No image in configuration. Re: Bubba Backup not working...

...OH, and as soon I I write that I decide to look into the /var/log/backup directory, delete everything beneath it and "voila!" the web interface is displaying all the jobs I have attempted to create. The backup of my email directories is running fine now... Although as up until now, all my actions...

Bubba Backup not working...

Arrrgg !!! I have been trying all weekend to get the PHP Bubba backup function in the UI working but with no luck. I have a USB stick in the back of my B3 which mounts OK, but when I try to create a new backup job in the Web Interface, it is never created. If I try to create a new job with the same ...

Re: Problems with RPC ports for NFS

Perfect ! Thanks ! It may be that by Bubba thinks it's acting as a router, strangely when I just now attempted to login to admin to check, I got the message - "Admin user not allowed to login on WAN interface. Please read the users manual for advice. " ...which is strange as it allowed me to do this...

Re: Excito is hiring!

Sounds interesting ! I got Owncloud up and running on my B3, but the Android app is currently very flakey. Marketing the B3 as your own, secure cloud could be a great idea !

Re: Problems with RPC ports for NFS

In fact, has anyone any ideas why 'iptables' is running on the B3 at all ? I am not using my B3 as a router and it is sat behind my ADSL router which is handling all the port forwarding and stuff.

Would it be safe to switch iptables off in this situation ?
